POSITION TITLE: Clinical Manager - Satellite Clinics/Athletic Health Care/Cancer Rehabilitation/Wellness
SUPERVISOR: Director, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
POSITION SUMMARY:
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The clinical manager functions as an integral part of the rehabilitation and athletic training teams and has both clinical and management responsibilities. S/He serves as site manager and is designated as acting administrator when the Director is not on site. S/He serves as manager of rehabilitation and athletic training services, supervising clinical personnel and developing, coordinating and managing of the clinic-based athletic training programs/departments. S/He serves as the primary liaison with national trends and direction related to physical medicine, rehabilitation and athletic training.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIP
The clinical manager reports directly to the administrative director of physical medicine and rehabilitation.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
- Must have fulfilled all requirements of the NATA Board of Certification Inc. exam and state licensure or regulation as determined by the state.
- Three years supervisory experience of a clinical athletic training staffimplementing the team concept of care delivery, demonstrating administrative capabilities.
- Record of activity in state, regional and national professional associations.
- Management of finance, strategic planning, and
marketing of athletic health care services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
- Patient/Athlete Care
- Provides consultation/resources for treatment of patient/athletes
- Serves as clinical resource to supervisory and therapeutic/athletic training staff
- Staff
- Recruits and supervises the orientation and training of clinical personnel
- Assures that professional and support staff properly implement clinical policies and procedures
- Evaluates, counsels and promotes the growth and development of the clinical staff
- Oversees staff in-service and external educational programs related to athletic and physically active health care.
- Works with the rehabilitation team and athletic
training staff to coordinate interdisciplinary
opportunities for staff and students

- Program Development
- Evaluates the effectiveness of services provided, and in collaboration with staff, devises improved techniques and methods of implementation consistent with national trends in the delivery of patient/athlete care
- Maintains awareness of long and short term goals of the health system and recognizes opportunities for potential involvement in new service areas
- Plans, directs and/or participates in the development of new treatment services
- Meets regularly with directors of strategic initiatives, medical and clinical services to develop goals, objectives and plans for rehabilitation and athletic healthcare services
- Serves on intra-department and special task forces as appropriate
- Plans, organizes and presents in-service program(s)
- Works with clinical staff to plan, direct and/or participate in research studies
- Coordinates, develops and maintains quality assurance and program evaluation systems

- Consults with and advises the Director regarding
needs, goals, future plans and problems pertinent
to clinical programs.
- Administration
- Collaborates with the director, VP of public relations and VP strategic initiatives to establish and maintain direction, operation practices, procedures, and standards for the organization, operation and performance pertinent to the delivery of patient/athlete care
- Assists in developing overall work objectives, determining short- and long-range goals, and planning and implementing strategies to achieve goals
- Consults with and advises director, VP of public relations and VP strategic initiatives regarding needs goals, future plans and challenges
- Assures staff complies with safety and health policies and procedures of the clinic and ensures patient/athlete care is delivered in a safe manner consistent with health promotion.
- Acts in the stead of the Director when the Director is not on site
- Markets programs to target audiences and develops contractual agreements for athletic health care services
