End the Annual Meeting with a bang! Don’t miss Saturday’s hot topic session…
Session 50
Proper Use, There’s No Excuse: Prescription and OTC Medication in the Athletic Training Room
The issue of prescription and OTC medications in the athletic training facility is not a new one. NATA has addressed this to some degree, but the topic continues to resurface. This begs the question: are we doing everything we can to educate NATA members on proper storage, distribution and use of medications, both prescription and OTC, in the athletic training facility?
An educational session at the 2008 Annual Meeting will kick-off our work in this area. Presented in a panel format with representatives from collegiate sports, the discussion will center around current practices, misconceptions and case studies. Our goal is to gather information for NATA’s inter-association task force, which is charged with developing a consensus statement on proper protocols and preparing an educational program appropriate for all NATA members
